This cache is dedicated to our Daughter, a Police Sgt. and our Son, a Firefighter/Paramedic, and our Son in Law, a Police Lt., for their service to their communities & to all other Policemen & Firefighters.
Cache is in an Ammo box, located in Stratham town forest. Parking is at Stratham Hill Park (N 43° 02.475 W 70° 53.605). Cache is located about 400 to 500 feet off the red trail. From parking lot go straight through gate, take right across from brown shed (N 43° 02.379 W 70° 53.581), go down road past house and take left just before you go through gate (N 43° 02.370 W 70° 53.635), do not go in field but the path to the left of it. This turns into the yellow trail and the red trail will go off to the left at about .35 miles (N 43° 02.077 W 070° 53.394).
Cache is off this trail and requires 400 to 500 feet of bushwhacking through open woods. There is no poison ivy near cache. The yellow trail goes by a pond with ducks, turtles, beaver and other wildlife.
After finding cache, you can continue up the red trail to the top of Stratham Hill and the fire tower. There are good views of the Great Bay from the top of the tower. There is also a benchmark on top of the hill. This will add a little distance to your trip.
Dogs are welcome, if bringing small children, the yellow trail goes along the edge of the pond with a very steep bank. There is Poison Ivy along this trail.
Round trip to cache and back is 1.2 miles.We have stocked this cache with items pertaining to Policewomen, Policemen & Firefighters. Happy caching!!
IMPORTANT NOTE: Do NOT go the last week of July when the Stratham Country Fair takes place, the park is at capacity!!
