This cache is located in a beautiful area that is maintained by the
US Army Corps of Engineers. The scenery is spectacular with 2
beautiful mountain lakes created by the Corps for flood control.
The cache is located on a beautiful hiking trail at a place with
a breathtaking vista of the valley. You will be well advised to
follow the trail and not your GPS as you start. The reason will
become obvious as you climb the mountain.
Parking is at N41 52.255 W077 11.033 on a lane that parallels
the road. The trailhead is right there and is clearly marked.
Or
Another way to the cache is to find your way to these parking
coordinates.
N41 50.886 W77 09.374
From there you can hike a maze of trails, mowed paths and roads
to
N41 51.406 W77 09.995
which is at the end of one of the mowed paths. You will see trail
markers (yellow blaze marks) that if you follow north will take you
out the mountain ridge to the cache.
On 4-2-10 we replaced the cache. The container is now my Golden
500th cache 30 Cal can presented at a function of cachers to
celebrate that occasion. The new location although nearby the
original is much better concealed. You will find it if you look in
the right place and move a leaf or two. Since I want to be sure
that the natural environment is disturbed as little as possible the
hint is a spoiler. Please use it rather than disturb this beautiful
place
