I've got 10 of the Jeep travel bug tags for the win a jeep contest. (Link= http://jeep.geocaching.com/sweeps/ ) Since I'm moving up this way as soon as our house sells, I thought I'd host a little "Meet and Greet" event and pass these out. Every team can sign in upon arrivial and we'll have a drawing to pass out the 10 bugs. That will help those who are traveling quite a ways to meet with us.

What to bring.... Well, if you want to grill something, bring it along. I'm not planning on renting a pavalion or anything, the coordinates are for a shady spot under some trees near some rest-rooms and play equipment for the kids. If the pavilion is open, we may use it. The first 10 teams to arrive will get one of the Jeep travel bugs which I'll be bringing. (You can read more about it through the forums at the Michigan Geocaching website at www.mi-geocaching.org . I'm not planning on putting together any geo-caching games or anything like that for this event, but we've hosted events before and been to a few so we'd like to see this kind of thing more often once we get settled up here again. You may want to bring some bug spray, the flying vampires are thick at times. Also, those with folding type chairs should bring them.Official "Start" time will be at 6:30 pm and we can sit and chat for as long as you want. I'll also be passing out one of our team cards to everyone who shows up (for those who collect them). If you want to turn this into a "Pot-Luck" type dinner, post some notes on here and we can change it to that. Geo-kids will have fun with the parks equipment and the room to run and make as much noise as they want. Come meet some of the U.P.cachers whom you've all read about in the cache pages!!
