O'Keefe's Lake Monster cache
Having lived on PEI for a time I became familiar with this lake which I believe is the largest fresh water lake on Prince Edward Island. I also had occasion to hear the Legend of the monster of O'Keefe's lake in various forms. I have tried to find information on this monster on the internet and did not find much of value. But the way that I remember it is that a number of people supposedly have spotted a large beast in the lake, no one is sure of the state of sobriety of the individuals. The monster theory was also used to explain the lack of fish in the lake, which I believe was later attributed to someone dumping some pesticides in the lake many years ago. Apparently the fish population has recovered and the spot is once again a popular fishing spot. The cache contains various 'monsters' so that everyone can report sighting monsters at O'Keefe's lake.
