We placed this cache above Elsie Lake as the Views are amazing.
There are several ways into the area so pick the one that suites
you the most. You can either hike, mtn bike, use a motorcycle or 4
wheeler to get to the area. We have gotten to Elsie lake from 2
different ways and both ways are fun and exciting.
The cache is about .35 miles from the lake itself as the crow
flies--However we are not crows!! If you are planning on hiking you
can make a loop out of the trip by using trail 106. NOTE--although
this trail looks wide enough for a 4 wheeler--it is not!! We tried
and had to back out.
Now for the cache itself. You are looking for a plastic peanut
container full of little nicknacks and other goodies. Please be
careful when removing the cache and placing it back as if it is
dropped it is a long ways to the bottom!! please return the cache
area just like you found it. Also the hill the cache is on is
pretty steep and rocky and when the underbrush is wet it can be
slick. There are several game trails that go by the cache so just
find the right one and you can walk right to it.
