DEADSTREAM SWAMP! This cache is not for the faint of heart. It is highly suggested you ONLY approach this cache from a small kayak, canoe, or boat.
I have always wanted to place a cache in the middle of the Deadstream Swamp but after several conversations with a resident expert regarding: cougars, black bears, bobcats, Michigan Rattlers, mucky-muck swamp, mosquitos, odd-looking spiders, beavers as big as Black Labs, and silt deeper than my paddle...I decided to place one anyway! The area is extremely beautiful. The flora and fauna is magnificent. If you paddle, this is the cache for you. My oldest son and I have paddled this stretch several times over the past six years and he nicknamed the place "Dinosaur Swamp".As you approach the cache, it is as if you are paddling back in time...go slowly...listen...smell...look around. You will have stories to tell after this one, I promise.There is a delicious treat waiting for the First and Second Finders...We hope you love Cherry Pie! You can get fairly close by car (within a half mile) but you must reach this by paddle. ENJOY
