Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
We give this a difficulty level of 1.5 because we could not get exact coordinates of the cache due to tree cover.
Gus has been collecting hatpins for about 25 years, and we decided it was about time to weed them out. We went through all of his pins and he decided he could do without these few. (Gram added a couple, also.)
We put them into this cache to share with others. This cache is hidden along a trail in the Yorba Linda dry lake. You need to turn off the main trail, and enter tree cover area. Cache is located about 40 feet from where you leave the trail. Changed coordinates of the cache. Maybe they will be a little closer. It's hard to get exact coords due to tree cover.
You can park on Via Arbaleda to access one of the trailheads. This gives you a nice walk through this great area.
When hidden the cache contained a custom logbook, pen & all of these pins:
Vintage ATC
Border Patrol
Colorado
2- vintage American flags
Bobby-sox
Vintage Calico
Los Angeles Police
Royal Canadian Mounted Police
Circus Circus
Deputy Collector Internal Revenue
Vintage Anaheim Bowl 200
Vintage O.C.W.B.A. 200
Vintage dune buggy
3-extra backs
There is also a special first to find signature geocaching keychain custom made by Gus & Gram and Eagle Eyes Jr.
On 11-16-04, we changed the container to a camoed tin, about 8" X 6" X 2". We found the cache on the ground, about 10 feet from the original location. The cache was very wet, so we changed the log book, and cleaned up some of the pins. We had to toss some of the contents, but added some new stuff. Please rehide this cache in the same spot.
