We wanted to introduce you to our favorite weekend hangout a fresh water billabong that has water all year through, something that is pretty rare in this part of the world. You dont need a 4WD to reach it. This is our second cache in this area, unfortunately Cyclone Monty caused massive flooding of the area in March 04 taking out the nearby bridge and washing away our cache which was located on what we thought was high ground it was also around 4 metres up a tree!!!!!!Although the area has been changed completely its still well worth the visit for a swim and to check out what Mother Nature is capable of.
A Bit of Trivia/history.
Years ago this billabong was Dampiers only water supply. The water was trucked the 35Klms back to Dampier - nowadays it is piped from either Harding River or Millstream dependant on the time of year.
