Geocache Description:


Join us at the Sacramento State University Aquatics Center on Lake Natomas Saturday, August 14th, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm for an evening of water fun and good food! The entrance to the Aquatics Center is at the traffic light at the intersection of Gold Country Blvd. and Hazel Ave. If you have a kayak or canoe, bring it along, as we will be able to launch from the facility. There will also be discounted rentals available at the facility. I’m sure it will be a hot one, but we are right on the lake and there are shade structures for the picnic tables.

We will fire up the BBQ around 6:00pm. Briquettes, paper products, and condiments will be provided. Bring your own meat or meat substitute to BBQ, something to share and your own beverages. (And, of course, your swimsuit and sunscreen!) No alcohol or glass bottles allowed on the beach. Sorry puppies, no dogs allowed in the facility either. There will be no lifeguard on duty, so watch those little cachers! Swim socks or Tevas would probably be useful, as the beach is not perfectly sandy. Perhaps we could organize some paddling races, games, etc. (I’d appreciate some help organizing these!) The P.A. will be available, and I’d like us to have a little “meeting” around 6:30 or 7:00. Please RSVP with the number in your group/family attending. I will need to settle with the facility at the start of the event, and a reasonably accurate count would help. ALSO: Please bring a geocaching related item for a free raffle.
