Due to the price of silver and our dimes always being gone we will no longer have real silver dimes in this cache. This cache is located in Bernheim Forest and your adventure will begin by parking at what is now known as the Education Center and find the coordinates listed on the top of this page. You will enjoy your tour through the holly collection and end up at the final stage of the cache which is located at a place you may or may not have ever noticed.
We have decided to create a cache in memory of Mrs. Geo'ers father known to family and friends as Bud. If there was one thing he loved to do it was collect silver coins. He loved his silver. We have decided to place true silver dimes in this cache that are dated the late 50's and early 60's. In the old days Bud would have said "have a cup of coffee on me". We will keep enough handy to take care of 200 visitors to this cache. The cache is a pickle jar so there is not much room for trading of large items so please keep them small. This forest was a gift given to the people of Kentucky by Isaac Wolfe Bernheim. He established Bernheim in 1929. Isaac Bernheim was a German immigrant who settled in Kentucky. In 1992, the Kentucky legislature designated Bernheim as Kentucky’s official arboretum. Please remember we need to help protect Bernheim by observing park rules:Collection of plant or animal material is not permitted. Observe the 25 mph speed limit and keep vehicles on paved roads only. Do not feed the geese or other park animals. Keep pets on leashes and remove waste. Let's begin and happy caching!
