Geocache Description:

This cache is a puzzle of a different ilk! Just work your way through the puzzling questions below to decide if you will find this cache. The given coordinates are for parking. The near-to-the-cache coordinates are given in #3 below.

1. Are you willing to wade across a one or two creeks to get this cache? - if yes, go to #2 - if no, quit right now

2. How will you cross the creek, about 30’ wide and up to 3' deep, more or less depending on the time of year? - if barefoot, you might want to bring a towel – I’ve done it - if with boots, remember that you will have to carry or wear them almost ½ mile - if with shoes on your feet, you will have to slog your way back in wet foot wear – I’ve done it - if with beach shoes or flip-flops, they may get stuck in the oozy sand – I’ve had that happen - remember that with each of the options other than the boots, you will have to be able to roll your pants above your knees – I just wore shorts and even then got them wet - and don't forget - you have to crawl up the muddy/dusty bank on the opposite side

3. How will you locate the cache? - these coordinates are for the middle of the creek, the only place I could get slightly decent satellite readings - N 46º 29.065 W 122º 44.498. This is one of two sets of readings from two different GPSes. See reference points below. - you might try getting a reading from the opposite bank before crossing the creek – it should point you to a cluster of large trees just above a riffle (ok, you can look it up) - once across Blue Creek at the correct spot, just look for a tree with a crook about 6’ above ground level – the cache is nested in there under moss - set background photo. - I can’t say how far from the bank the tree is, because that will vary with the amount of water flowing downstream – suffice it to say that it should be above the high water line and not wash away like the original one, as well as being tied in place.

4. Now that you’ve worked your way through all of the above, go back to #1 – is you answer still the same? - if yes, go get it - if no, don’t bother printing this page Have fun if you decide to do it!
