Falcor's Watering Hole
This is a micro cache with log only. Bring a pen or
pencil to sign the log! Look for a gold metal box, ½" x 2" x 4".
Three ways to locate this cache.:
1) (Best, but longest hike) access trailhead from Callahan Ranch Road.
2) (Easier, but shorter hike) Access from Joy Lake Road. Parking near bridge that crosses the
creek.
3) (Easiest, but no
fun) access from nearby public street and drop down to the Creek (look at a map
to figure out which street!)
Accessible by foot,
mountain bike, or horses. No motorized
vehicles! Do not venture far off the trail. The more well-to-do around here get
very touchy about trespassers. The historic Callahan family cemetary
is near the east end and south of the trails, and is accessible to the public,
but please show due respect.
This is a beautiful
area and a well maintained hiking trail, kept available for public access by Washoe County. There is an interesting historical marker about the
area across from the trailhead on Callahan Ranch Rd. Enjoy!
