Geocache Description:

Honeychile's Button Box is in a small ammo can. The real difficulty with this cache is not so much finding it as in being nonchalant and discrete once you do find it. Besides a collection of geocaching buttons it contains a logbook, pen, & note. If you bring a personal geocaching button or magnet to trade, please note that when you log this cache online & post a picture of your button if you have one. If you do not have a geocaching button, a button of any sort is an acceptable trade.

When I was a very young child, my grandmother, who could actually sew, had a button box. It was filled with a large number and astounding (to me) variety of buttons. I could usually amuse myself with the contents of the button box for however long it took my grandmother to create a frilly, new outfit for my favorite doll from scraps of material, lace, ribbon, and, of course, buttons – at the time, it seemed like hours to me. While she sewed, my grandmother used the buttons in her button box to teach me to count, subtract, add, carry, and sort. (She was probably just thankful that I wasn’t playing with the scissors).

Honeychile’s Button Box is a button box of a different sort, but the buttons in it are even more wonderful than those that belonged to my grandmother so long ago. This cache contains a collection of geocaching buttons designed and made by honeychile, my virtual friend and the Queen of Geocaching in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. You can see honeychile’s current selection of geocaching buttons on her webpage at bumblebuttons.com. However, with a few exceptions (such as the buttons pictured in the background of this webpage), you will not find the buttons in this cache on honeychile's webpage. If you have a geocaching button or magnet, personal or otherwise, to trade, that would be great! If you are geocache-buttonless, the next best thing would be a button of some sort – so bring whatever you have in the way of a button to leave as a trade item in honeychile's Button Box. -ceara
