This is a short walk from a parking spot on the road along a quiet public footpath. There is suggested parking at N52 42.951, W001 48.474, however this footpath runs all the way from Lichfield (Netherstowe area) so you might want to make an afternoon of it and start at the other end. It is also less than a quarter of a mile from 'national cycle route 54'.
This cache is titled Direction Finder after the W.Op DF (Direction Finder) servicemen who were stationed close to here for a number of years in the late '40's and early '50's. There were many such sites around the airfield - this one is near the end of the main runway (as it was back then - there is now very little left, only a few buildings and a few hangars).
The cache is a circular container wrapped in a black bag.
