Geocache Description:

This cache is made up of two steps. The first is to find the very tiny black container, open it and remember the color of the bead. The second part is virtual and questions will need to be answered and e-mailed to Freeze Co.

Freeze Co. passes this library on the way to work and we watched this sculpture being built. The final product is quite unique so we did some research to learn why the artist chose this particular theme. The following information is a quote from the artist.

The artist's quote:“I have chosen open books to express the way libraries are accessible to everyone and have created a symbolic gateway structure through which visitors can enter into a new and stimulating environment. The books are intended to be high-profile structures that are recognizable, inviting and visually stimulating. The negative and positive images seen from either side of each book’s pages make reference to traditional printing techniques. The sculpture is further enhanced by light from the sun or moon passing through the profiled pages, casting word shadows on the ground.”

To receive credit for the virtual part of this cache, e-mail the answers to the following questions to FreezeCo.

1.What is the name of the sculpture?
2.Name the body part that is cut out of the sculpture.
3.Write out the quote by Lao Tzu.
4.Lao Tzu’s quote is written in how many languages?
5.The micro container contains a bead. What color is it?
Happy caching!!!!!
