The multi-tiered Millennium Park was opened in December, 2000
but is still not shown on many maps. It is a 100 acre park with 6
miles of walking and biking trails, plus a picnic area and a
children's playground. There is usually a breeze so kite flying is
often done on the top level. Bring a canoe and use the public
access to the Charles River or bring your fishing license and try
your skill.
If you combine this cache with the
Millennium Park Cache you will get a chance to view each area
of the park. You can move your car from area to area (plenty of
parking) or walk, it isn't far. This is a safe area for children of
all ages. The entire park is handicap-accessible.
NOTE: We have
had to relocate the final cache. The first two stages remain the
same. To remove it from the eyes of muggles we had to place it
where about 30 feet of bushwhacking is required. The 10 feet
surrounding the cache are now not terribly child friendly for very
small children.
NOTE: There
are faded numbers on the slab at stage #2 but they have nothing to
do with the coordinates you seek.
The entrance to the park is off the VFW Parkway. You will pass a
large Medical Center on your right and then come up to a traffic
light. Turn left at this light and go between the Home Depot and
the MDC skating rink.
Parts of this cache are not very snow friendly!
