Gate to Peco Park locks at 11pm, but the cache won't. Behind the almost vacant Galion Industrial Park. Please don't drive up the gravel trail unless the park is empty. Park in lot.
This award-winning softball complex (with kids' playground and picnic area) is gated overnight. I think in winter gates may not open, but cache is without, in deep center field. This is also the site where (summer of '03) a young girl stepped on an electrified grid (not up to code) and died. If you check back issues of Mansfield/Columbus papers you would easily find the story. The Gus Macker tournament is set up here every summer, and I would avoid that weekend. The field just south is where the new High School campus will be eventually.
And then, sadly too, there is currently an ongoing FBI investigation into missing millions in City funds and the attempted suicide in this park office.
