Follow the trail up the Deschutes about 1.18 mile. You will see a trail off to the left.
This old roadbed was constructed in the 1860's and was used by stagecoach and wagons as a route to connect Eastern inland areas with The Dalles. Different ferry's were used to cross the Deschutes until the construction of a toll bridge. When you get in the area of the cache take time to sit on the wooden bench and look down the Deschutes and into the Columbia.
