If you are looking for a town that still has its Goldrush charm then Cue is a good example of one...its its still producing today
Far Far away is a distant Gold town called Cue….. Sometimes we end up driving down the inland road when heading back from the north don’t we. So what better than a chance to open the doors and go for a leisurely walk near the quaint goldfields town of Cue. The town has seen its fair share of Gold rushes over the years and it still has a host of old buildings that give it the Wild West look. You could imagine swing doors on the pub very easily. Many of the buildings are being renovated and the town seems to be gearing itself towards tourism so the future looks much brighter than it did before when it just relied on gold. We used to come here occasionally a number of years ago to visit friends that were working on the mines mostly during the cooler months though as it can get very hot out this way.On the northern side of the town about 20km out is a lake (it was wet when we went past…but most likely dry out) this is a good place to camp the night if you have the equipment with you. The cache isn’t hard to find but there are lots of rocks to look under so we hope you spot the correct ones quickly.
