Geocache Description:

Cache is located along "Ontario's West Coast" in a Municipality of Bluewater park within the former Township of Stanley (named after the 14th Earl of Derby, a British Prime Minister in the 1800's). This little known treasure overlooks Lake Huron with its gorgeous sunsets. The park contains picnic tables and washrooms. Watch out for muggles in summer, and particularly on weekends -- they may just appear out of nowhere.

Cache Version 1.0 was a traditional ammo can stolen by muggles in 2008. Amazingly, it was found by a cottager 12 years later when he struck an object almost entirely buried in Lake Huron sand 1 km south of its original location. Version 2.0, a well-hidden 35mm film cannister, replaced it in 2008. Last found in August, 2019, it was swept into Lake Huron by a massive bank slide along with the beach-access stairs that led to its location. It was replaced in July, 2020 by Version 3.0, safely located on higher ground in the same general area. Unless muggles steal this one, Version 4.0 should not be required!
