Geocache Description:

This cache will give you a nice tour along Lem Vig in West Jutland.

Requirements: A compass or a GPS able to project a waypoint based on bearing and range. This cache is geographically separated in two “stages”. One stage is covering the area around the inner part of Lem Vig and the other part is the northern end of Lem Vig and Nissum Bredning. The inner stage can be taken (and logged) as a separate cache (The Inner Planets). The distance from start to finish is approximately 7 km. For the first stage, I recommend parking at N 56° 33.192 E 008° 17.775 and finding the locations on foot. The second stage is suitable for biking or walking (Dust trails; 6 km t/r). Here I recommend parking at N 56° 35.097 E 008° 16.979 (The ice creams at the nearby store are very good and the beach is very nice for bathing – especially for children) or near location 5. Location 1 N 56° 32.971 E 008° 18.028 At the base of this very well known object, you will find a number written like “A.BCD.000 km”. Use these numbers to calculate location 2. On the way, you will pass several other planets in the solar system Location 2 N 56° BB.B66 E 008° A7.72A At this point, you will need to find the diameter of planet (Format: “EFG.HIJ km”) and the distance (= “Afstand”) from the sun (Format “KKL,M mio km”). This will give you the next location. Location 3 N 56° MM.H [7-K] 9 E 008° 1H.6MH This fascinating object has three different numbers on the column. You need the ring diameter (”NPN.000 km”) and the distance (= Afstand) from the sun (”Q.RST,0 mio km”). With this information you have two options: 1) To continue to part two of this cache or 2) Go for the Cache ”The Inner Planets”. THE SOLAR SYSTEM - PART 2 Location 4 N 56° [5-N] R.3T8 E 008° Q6. [S+T] 6Q Look for the diameter of this object (”U0.V00 km”) and range (= Afstand) (”W.VYX,Y mio km”) Location 5 N UY° [V-U] U.3V3 E 008° 17.YX7 To find location 6 you need the diameter (”AB.C00 km”) and the range (= Afstand) (”D.DEF,G mio km”) Location 6 N 56° 35.E05 E 008° [G-C] 5.B10 We have now reach the outer limits of our solar system, and to find the new asteroide (= The cache) you need a final set of numbers: Diameter (”H.000 km”) and range (=Afstand) (”J.K00,L mio km”). The cache is situated at bearing (H0L° - 10°) and range (J×5) m. Cache contents: FC, logbook and items for trade. If you are registered user of geocaching.dk, please visit the site and give me an evaluation of this cache. There is always room for improvement.
