Short circular walk
There is ample parking at the quarry and there's a clue trail leaflet at the beginning for the kids - young and old - for added interest. The area has been landscaped, has good paths (right to the cache site) and a picnic area. There are some unusual seats along the way, carved from old trees and a couple of expanses of water - never seen so many frogs before. There are good views of Walltown Craggs, one of the best preserved lengths of the Roman Wall, snaking over the crags to the turret.
