On one of the trails leading to Glymur waterfall. At 200m, they are the largest falls in Iceland.
A beautiful hike up toward Glymur waterfall. From the parking lot pass through the gate and head straight, don't follow the path that leads to the right and toward the river (this may take you to Glymur, but not to the cache). Follow the yellow painted-rock trail markers, but be prepared for steep elevation changes, fjording a few small streams, and crossing a fairly wide 'river'. You shouldn't get your feet wet because there's a log and a guide-wire to help you across, but be careful nonetheless. Not recommended for bikes. The cache is placed in a small 3" x 7" x 3" translucent blue plastic box with a hinged lid.Cache contains: Chap Stick lip balm, Metamucil packet, hand lotion, tea bag, rubber bouncey-ball, slide whistle, dental floss (new, in box), pen and log book. For safety reasons, I must tell you that the cache is placed to the RIGHT of the trail as you're headed toward the waterfall. The left of the trail is mostly a steep drop to the canyon below! Please remember to conceal the cache so it can't be seen from any direction.
