How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

This is a great lunch time cache. You only have to leave a “path” when getting the at the final cache.

For generations before white man came to Oregon, Tuality Indians roamed the flat plains of the Tuality basin. They described the land and the life upon it in words of there own. One of those words is “aloclek”, which means “bull frog”.

Far across the pacific, Japanese children are told a bedtime story about a little frog , sitting on a lily pad, desperate to reach a willow leaf far above his head. In the parable, the frog struggles to leap higher and higher toward its goal and by never giving up, finally achieves success.

Whats all this have to do with the cache well, this is a cache placed close by where I work. The company I work for named the street just up the block from the first waypoint and this is where the name came from. I also thought it was a great parable for geocaching so you get a bit of history along with your search.

At the initial coordinates you will see a sign describing what you can or cannot do on this trail. Take the code number xx.28 and multiply xx times 40 add 5 this will give yyy.

(xx * 40)+5 = yyy

Take the amount of the fine mentioned (aaa), subtract 185. This will give you bbb

aaa-185)= bbb

Second way point is
N 45 32.yyy
W 122 53.bbb

Since the keylock seems to move to much I made this another offset.

After you get to the second way point you will find a "tag"
You will find a serial number in the format of yy-zzz

yy x 333=AAA
ZZZ x 2 + 71=BBB

The final cache is located at
45 32.AAA
122 53.BBB
Have fun.
