Geocache Description:

Close to the road--on private property, but permission to cross is granted by landowner--do observe the "No Hunting" signs; just a short trip, especially if you are in need...The cache is in Morgan County, OH--one of counties in the Appalachian foothills. The main dwelling house was built prior to 1890; the larger outbuilding, now a garage, was built in the 1980s and used for selling Christmas trees.

By the way, it is also near the 74 foot long, multiple kingpost style Helmick Mill/Island Run covered bridge, built in 1867; well worth the detour to 39 43.183/81 56.534. When you come or leave, be sure to see Triadelphia, founded in 1838 by three brothers (Joseph, Nathan--my great-great-great-great grandfather, and Samuel Roberts)--hard to believe today that this "village" had train service four times a day once upon a time.

This regular cache is an ammo case, marked GEO CACHE. At the outset, it contained a zip lock bag with three logbooks and a pen as well as a pencil; a Christmas tree windup toy and wooden alphabet blocks, which could be arranged to spell out OH OH.

Although I live far away, this is family property. My parents will respond to any problems with the cache; as back up, my cousin who lives next door can also respond, if necessary.
