Geocache Description:

The Goblet of Fire consists of the last two tasks of the Triwizard Tournament.

This is the LAST cache in the Triwizard Series.
This cache can not be completed until all 4 Triwizard Dragon Caches have been successfully defeated.


The Goblet of Fire

The Triwizard Tournament was first initiated several hundred years ago as a friendly competition between the schools of wizardry: Hogwarts, Beauxbatons, and Durmstrang.

Each school designated a wizard champion, and the selected champions then competed against each other in a variety of spine-tingling tasks. The tournament continued until the death toll mounted so high that the authorities had to discontinue the event.

There have been several attempts over the centuries to resurrect the Triwizard tournament, none of which has proven very successful. However the Department of Magical Games & Geocaching has decided the time is ripe to have another go at it. Hence the creation of the four connected "Triwizard Tournament" Dragon cache sites:

The First Task:
This requires the wizard champion to steal a golden egg (in the form of cache coordinates) from each of their respective dragon counterparts. After outsmarting all four dragons, the successful cacher will have in their possession the complete set of required coordinates for embarking on the quest for the Goblet of Fire.

You will find instructions for these caches in each of their respective cache descriptions: Triwizard Tournament – Hungarian Horntail, - Swedish Short Snout, - Welsh Green, and - Chinese Fireball.

The Second Task:
You must rescue Ron and Gabrielle from the dire circumstances in which they have unknowingly been placed. You will need to follow the fine line and it helps to understand Dobby's advice regarding Gillyweed in order to be ultimately successful.

The ability to locate and manipulate small "Nano" sized objects is a highly regarded Wizarding skill that must be mastered to complete this challenge. *However* Tournament officials have consulted the Triwizard Rule Book and determined that "Cheating is Allowed". Wizards may employ tweezers, paper clips or other similar objects to extract required information. Be forewarned.

The Third Task:
Upon completing the second task it should be obvious where you will find the next cache site, although the exact hiding spot has the potential to drive you nuts.

The Final Reward:
The Goblet of Fire is a LARGE cache container. The Cache contains a wide variety of treasures. Please try to keep the caliber of the trades commensurate with the efforts given to earn them. Do your best to return the cache to the proper hiding spot.

Updated instructions on the Final Cache site location: At the final site, a new fence has been installed between the dirt road and the cache site. You can still easily access the cache by going to the left (south). The fence ends at the stream bed. The cache is just about 30 feet in, about 20 feet BEFORE the NO Trespassing sign.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The coordinates listed above are NOT for the location of this cache site.
The Goblet of Fire is logically restricted to only those that have already completed the first Triwizard task by defeating all four of the Triwizard Dragons. Challengers must have the coordinates for Ron and Gabrielle already in their possession.
