Ah, the giant panda or Ailuropoda melanoleuca, meaning
"cat-footed, black-and-white animal
(http://nationalzoo.si.edu/Animals/GiantPandas/). They are an
endangered species and very popular as a zoo animal where their
every move (or lack thereof!) is studied intensely. The panda’s
coloration is so distinctive with its white patches on black OR is
it black patches on white?
While pondering this black/white thing, I was reminded of an
episode of an old science fiction television series (still
available in reruns) which featured a couple of aliens whose faces
were half black and half white.

Please leave the resident pandas for the most junior of the caching
community. From the nearest parking lot it is a short walk of 1.5
kilometre on solid ground, no bushwacking required. Signs at the
parking lot suggest that dogs are allowed. Enjoy the hike!!
