Additional Parking Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

NC_Ron&Dianne: We checked on this cache today, and we agree. It is insanely overgrown with briars and poison ivy. We located the cache, which was actually in pretty good shape, and took it with us. I think it's time to archive this one because of the excessive briars and Poison Ivy. I'm reminded of the song by Johnny Horton, "Battle of New Orleans." "Well they ran through the briars, and they ran through the brambles, and they ran through the bushes where a rabbit couldn't go..."

Thanks to all who came out to find it.

Geocache Description:

Take the Landrum exit off of I-26 turn right and parking will be obvious for this cache.

The cache is a small round plastic canister filled with small exchangeable items. It is hidden from casual view, as always be aware of . Be discreet, and PLEASE be sure to cover it well with leaves so that non geocachers will not see it!

On Sept. 30, 2005, we checked on the cache because of the DNF's, and sure enough, it was gone. We rehid it in a different manner, but it is very close to where it used to be. Please be sure the cache is well hidden when you leave.

Update: July 17, 2008 - Several months ago, the property owner sold the gas station, however, he retained ownership of the "Additional Parking" lot behind it, next to the pond. The lot is no longer open for "Additional Parking" use by the new owners of the gas station. Today, we spoke with the property owner, and he reassured us that the geocache can stay where it is. He does not mind people WALKING back to find the geocache, however, he does not want folks from the gas station parking back there anymore. He knows where the cache is hidden, and said he even helped one lady find it while he was out fishing in his pond one day. He said geocachers are welcome to walk back to find the cache.
