Geocache Description:

When I first set this cache I was inspired by the many variations of puzzle/multi-cache ideas and this has led me to setting this little teaser.
It is based on one of my favourite games 'Monopoly' - I collected sets and had over 40 different boards in various languages before I ran out of room. I have a French set that has been named for its uniqueness on a renown Monopoly collectors site.
Originally this cache was done as an 'out in the field multi location' style, although it was always an 'Unknown' as a type. However this has been been given a 21st anniversary make-over and transformed into true Unknown style where this puzzle can be solved online.
If you want to see where the original stages of this cache were - then have a go at GCATWDF - a tribute cache by 1260rjc.

.

On to this puzzle :-

The co-ordinates below are clue locations which can be researched using well known online maps. At each location you will find a word that can be found on one of the squares on the Monopoly board (see picture above) the hints below are to help find what you need at those co-ords and do not relate to anything on the board.
Some are very obvious, others need a little work and may only be part of a word on the board.

Location No.   Co-ords                   Hint

1   N51 16.060 E000 23.138    Street
2   N51 02.720 E000 31.475    Lane
3   N51 11.529 E000 16.393      Lane
4   N51 18.356 E000 13.904    Lane
5   N51 14.902 E000 32.936    Road

6   N51 16.259 E000 11.734    should be obvious
7   N51 17.528 E000 17.636    Road
8   N51 16.308 E000 23.949    School
9   N51 16.628 E000 10.929    Rank (on board, not super)
10   N51 16.250 E000 30.845    Mews

Now, once you have found the clues and the squares they relate to, you can now start moving round the board. The numbers 1 to 10 (above) will now refer to the squares on the monopoly board  - so for example, if at the co-ords at 1 you found Chapel then 1 = Whitechapel Road and so on.

Now read this carefully and completely – don’t miss anything.

Starting from GO move to the square relating to clue given by location
1 – how many squares did you move ? Well, the number of squares moved (not including the one you started on) is the number 'A' in the final cache co-ordinate.

Note the location numbers and co-ordinate letters are not in order when it comes to moving round the board.
So the next move ....
From this square move to location
6 – number of moves = 'B'. and so on …..

The full sequence is below and as seen in BLANK and EXAMPLE (grids found in gallery)
(note: there are a couple of extra moves thrown in, these move you round the board but do not relate to the co-ordinates)

You MUST do this in the order given or you will not get the right answer – any answers with the number of moves over 10 just use the last digit i.e. 13 moves = 3.

If the answer is a multiple of 10 then the digit will be 0. ALWAYS move clockwise

The Final cache co-ordinate is 51º AB.CDE 00º FG.HJK

So - start on square GO then move as directed below (in the order given)

Move to location = No. of moves

1 = A
6 = B
5 = J
2 = K
8 = G
3 = F
Now go to Park Lane
7 = D
4 = H
Now go to Bond Street
9 = E
Now go to Pentonville Road

10 = C
Please refer to the BLANK and EXAMPLE grids to help

(Note: - the above puzzle is in keeping with the original. However, as was with the puzzle then and still is now, though the solved co-ords are in the right area, they are not exact - so I have added a checker where you will be given more precise co-ords for the cache location.

Many thanks to Rupert - 12690rjc who adopted this cache in 2017 when I moved from the area - however handed it back in 2025 as I am now in a position again to continue with it

This cache celebrated being 20 years old on 30 July 2024 - On 30 July 2025 a tribute cache was placed by 1260rjc to celebrate this cache turning 21 years old.- The cache is a wherigo ( GCATWDF ) following the original path of this cache when it was first put out.

For those of you who look at Jasmer and other similar grids
For caches hidden in the month of July 2004 - as of September 2025 there were only 47 active caches in the UK.
It is one of only 2 still active in Kent and the SE region hidden in that month.

This is the oldest active Unknown cache in Kent (county) and also the South East (Region)
and the 27th oldest active Unknown cache in the UK (Country)
It is the 5th (of 5) remaining active Unknown caches to be hidden in July 2004

At GZ you will find a hand crafted container - please do not be heavy handed, treat gently
If you cannot find the cache, do not assume it missing and do not put a throwdown as a replacement.
Maintenance is the responsibility of the CO – if any is required, please add an ‘Owner Attention Required’ log to highlight any issue.
