There's a historical marker in the lot of this park that refers to
"terrible fish". Funky saw that sign and it brought back a
childhood memory of a Mynah Bird that used to be the main
attraction at a little neighborhood pet store on State Road in
Parma in the 1970's. His favorite line was "Fish are Funny!". Since
the store had a lot of aquariums in it (no sea-monkeys, though),
that was pretty humorous! Of course, he greeted everyone and
had a decent vocabulary, but by far that was the best! (really,
try it in your best bird voice, you'll giggle). Bought many
goldfish and parakeets from that place, but it eventually closed
and is now an antiques store that is closing also.
So, to make a short story long... Funky said there just
had to be a cache here to commemorate that talkative
feathered friend !
Stay away from the rocks by the lake and look for a boullion
jar. Be sure to check out the water info station and Ohio
historical marker as well as the view!
