My family has been coming to this area for years and my children
have recently re-discovered the charm of this area. You can get
close to this cache from the highway, but the parking and approach
are both treacherous. I suggest that you go to the parking area
located at N45 17.127 W077 49.181 This has the added advantage of
showing you the roadside park that you would otherwise miss. It is
a daylight hours park so don't try this at night! The trail is
quite grown-over so I have to say that there is some bush-whacking
involved today. If the trail gets more use, or some maintenance, it
will be much easier to follow. The trail, such as it is, starts at
the west end of the park at the end of the turn-around. The water
in the creek is flowing fairly fast but there is no need to
approach the bank. If the trail looks like it goes over the bank,
look for another path. Children should be watched at any time near
water. Enjoy the area and explore a bit if you have the time.
11 AUG 2005 Cache was slightly relocated
to make it "Winter Friendly" New coordinates are within dithering
of the old ones.
