gpsfun: It appears that the owner gave this one up last July, so I'm archiving the cache page. Thanks for the past smileys.

Found out today that you are welcome to open the gates and take the tour of the grounds. Just please remember to close the gates back. They are not locked just shut.
Located at the home of Senator Thomas Watson.
Do you live in the country and receive your mail at your house? If so, you have Senator Thomas Watson of Georgia to thank. He's the "Father of Rural Postal Service". He introduced a bill while in a senate to allow you to receive your mail at your house.
As an attorney he quickly earned a reputation as one of the ablest criminal defense lawyers in Georgia.
He was a Naturalist that ordered plants in 1906 from Augusta's Fruitland Nurseries, better known today as the Augusta National Golf course.
He's a known author, having written "The Story of France". This book was proclaimed by the New York Evening Journal to be the best history ever written by an American. His bronze statue, erected by public subscription, stand today at the entrance to Georgia's captial. His grave site is located near the cache.
As well as his childhood home (which was moved here). The home where the cache is located is the one he moved into with his bride. Hopefully, next year I'll place another cache at Hickory Hill. The home he brought when be became a senator.
