West Jefferson is a quaint town nestled in between green hillsides patched by farmland and forest. It is full of history and unexpected treasures. One of those treasures is the Parkway Theatre, just down the street from where you will find this small cache.
Whatever happened to Randolph Scott ridin' the range alone?
Whatever happened to Gene and Tex and Roy and Rex, the Durango Kid?
Whatever happened to Randolph Scott his horse, plain as can be?
Whatever happened to Johnny Mack Brown and Alan "Rocky" Lane?
Whatever happened to Lash LaRue? I'd love to see them again.

Whatever happened to all of these has happened to the best of me.
The Parkway Theatre is a piece of Americana. Yes, they show first run movies upon immediate release; but it is the atmosphere that fills the longing for a simpler past. They show two movies at a time in a split theatre arrangement and show times are 7:00 and 9:00 PM. We have been here when the place is full and when there were only 7 other people in attendance. The sight of the surrounding mountains silhouetted at night in the amber glow of the marquee is something to behold.
