Three part Multi-Cache located on the lower hiking/ski trails at Bond Lake Park in Ransomville, NY. Terrain = 2.5/Difficulty = 2.5. Bushwacking necessary to find all 3 parts. First 2 caches are micros (bison tubes), 3rd cache is standard .30 Cal Ammo Can. Total hike approx. 2.5 miles. You will need to bring pen and paper to log coordinates contained in the micro caches. Please don't take the coordinates with you, for any reason.
This is the second cache placed in Bond Lake Park located on Lower Mountain Road in Ransomville, NY. It’s a 3-part multi-cache, using 2 micro caches and a .30 Cal Ammo Can. Bond Lake Park has 8 different lakes and 13 miles of trails used for hiking, biking, cross-country skiing and horseback riding.
This cache is spread out over the seldom used and well-maintained lower hiking/ski trails at Bond Lake Park. The above coordinates will lead you to the first micro cache, a small bison tube. In the first micro cache, you will find coordinates that will lead you to the second micro cache (another bison tube), which contains coordinates to the final cache site (.30 Cal Ammo Can).
To start this cache adventure, park near the Bond Lake Park Environmental Center (N43*10.861’/W078*54.539’). To access the lower trails you should start walking East on Lower Mountain Rd, past the large red groundskeeper’s house and garage, until you come to the 2nd red fire hydrant. At this point you should be able to see the trail entrance on your left side, approx. 20’ away.
This cache adventure will bring you through wooded trails and open fields. It would probably be a good idea to wear boots because you will no doubt encounter some mud on your journey. You will need to bushwack to find all 3 parts. Please be sure to hide the caches exactly where you found them. You will need to bring pen and paper to copy coordinates contained in the micro caches. Please don't take the coordinates with you, for any reason. Trade fairly and remember to bring bug spray during the summer.
We hope you enjoy our first hide. Look for more hides from The Inkwell in the near future! Be sure to check out Bond Lake by Team Headrush and turn your visit to Bond Lake Park into a full day of Geocaching!
**Please note that portions of the lower trails at Bond Lake Park share borders with private property, so please be respectful of the posted signs. Also, please be aware that the southern portion of the park shares borders with a private firing range, so you may hear gunfire in the distance, but you’re at no risk at all, as our cache is opposite the firing range**
