Geocache Description:

The horsegeeks have hidden nine micros and three ammo boxes at the Jordon Lake Educational State Forest for the “A Celebration of Geocaching” event. The park is open 8AM-5PM Monday - Friday and 11AM-8PM Saturday and Sunday. The micros are dedicated to two groups of people. The first group, of course, are the four geocachers that have surpassed their 1000th find nittany dave, wimseyguy, nctreker and Geologygirl. We are very proud of them. (And somewhat envious of the neat places they have cached) The other group they are dedicated to are our pen pals on the geocaching.com forums who hate unimaginative micros that pop up everywhere. The only difference between the subject micros they post about and these are that ours are under nature's lamp posts.

The Jordan Lake Educational State Forest is a beautiful park with something for everyone to do ... and most of all plenty of room for geocaches. To find all of these micros and ammo boxes just follow the Forest Demonstration trails and the gravel road and you will be very close to almost all of them.

A good way to approach these caches would be to take the trail out of the parking area. Follow the trails and first do JLESF #1 - #10 then do #12 then last of all do #11 and that will take you back to the parking area and the Huey helicopter. From the beginning to the end it is a 2.5 mile easy hike back to the parking area. Be sure to go by the eagle's roost after #4. Those coordinates are on the #4 listing. All of the cache's difficulty depends on the weather and the satellites. The day they were hidden was beautiful and clear and several trys were averaged together to get the final numbers. We have been back three times after hiding to check on them and the degree of difficulty and the accuracy of the coordinates seems to change slightly. Please let us know what you think of these caches (good and bad) as we want to leave them here after the event as well as upgrade their containers over the next few months.

This cache is an ammo box chock full of items needed for every camping trip. Take something you might need and trade something else (camping items preferred, but we're not picky). This cache is about 160 feet off of the trail. Good luck
