Sundial Traditional Cache
Nomex: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Tell the time for half-a-day OR be accurate every day, without the sway. This is THE Sundial in Redding that actually tells time.
Redding will always remember it's first Sundial (not THE BRIDGE). Visit this cache, take a stand or raise your hand and, after making adjustments for daylight savings time, "you" are the mechanism of this scientific/natural wonder.
How does this work? Stand on the month, and look at your shadow and tell the time!
Small Nalgene bottle. This cache was sparsely filled to allow room for my favorite FTF (new as the cache is new again). Please bring TTI's (tiny trade items) as there will be room once this has been visited a couple times. The challenge here will be not attracting muggles by "looking" like you aren't "looking." Originally, the cache had to be placed at 10:30 PM Sunday night, there were still two cars parked nearby as THE Sundial is popular day and night. Some call this the "Peanut" sundial. After your visit, you will know why. The new cache location should allow you to look around in stealth more easily. Just look like you are checking out the Arboretum and can't afford to pay the fee to be on the other side of the fence.
