Geocache Description:

(IT APPEARS THIS CACHE HAS BEEN DESTROYED BY CONSTRUCTION)

Attention travelers of Northern Utah (I-84 & US-89): have your Travel Bugs become a burden? Are the demands of their goals too taxing? Do the travelers (Bugs or GeoCachers) simply need a break? The South Weber Travel Bug Park-n-Ride can help!

(NOTE: To approach this cache one must cross or navigate around an irrigation ditch. Water 3-4 feet deep flows periodically in the ditch between APR-OCT. Approach point coordinates are listed below.)

Yes, share the load and pawn your travelers off on others in South Weber, in North Davis County (go figure!) South of the I-84/US-89 junction is the South Weber Park-n-Ride lot. A short walk from the parking lot is the South Weber Travel Bug Park-n-Ride, or Travel Bug Hotel. I hope this can serve as a quick and easy, freeway accessible location to exchange Travel Bugs or simply to keep them going in the direction of their goal(s). You park 'em, they ride!

Because there can be a lot of traffic and to help NOT draw attention, please park at the Park-n-Ride and not along the sides of the streets. Take your time and use STEALTH! Use one of the following approach points when finding this cache:

  1. Straight if there is NOT water in the ditch at N41° 07.687 W111° 54.671.
  2. From the North around ditch near a road sign at N41° 07.738 W111° 54.635.
  3. From the South around ditch along fence line at N41° 07.671 W111° 54.695.

PLEASE be cautious with kids if there is water in the ditch, it looks to be about 3-4 feet deep when flowing.

Please abide by the following guidelines when visiting this cache:

  • BE DISCRETE. The cache location is a short walk from the Park-n-Ride parking lot and is pretty simple to get at and find. There are muggles popping in and out of here all of the time but there should be ample opportunity to get in and out without others around, or without drawing attention. I know vegetation and/or snow will be trampled into a noticeable path, but because of traffic and the location there shouldn’t be many non-cachers near the hiding spot, so just please be discrete until you are out of view.

  • TRAVELERS ONLY. This cache is intended to be a Travel Bug Hotel. Please leave room in the container for this purpose. Please come find the cache, sign the log, trade bugs/nuts/etc., and enjoy a (somewhat) secluded rest, but please don’t leave normal trade items to clutter the cache. Periodically, non-travel/exchange type items will be cleared out of the cache.

  • USE TRAVEL BUG REGISTER. In addition to a typical cache log book, there is a Travel Bug Register provided to help keep travelers moving in the direction of their goal. If this log is used, I hope it will help match the right bug (and goal) with the right person who can help it along the way in the right direction. If you drop off a traveler, please check it in on the TB Register. If you grab a traveler, please check it out on the TB Register. Don't forget to log them on GeoCaching.com too!!

  • RE-HIDE CACHE THE WAY YOU FOUND IT. I've tried to naturally camouflage the cache the best I can. I don't want anybody's travel bugs stolen or destroyed, so PLEASE note how it looks when you find it and put it back the same.

Thanks! Enjoy your stay; we’ll leave the light on for ya.
