Although burial underground was foreign to the Indian customs, the coordinates will lead you to the white influence upon the Native American and the interestingly well maintained refurbished cemetery. Note the rebuilt Miami Indian Village School as well. Please visit the website to learn much more history of this area.
At the cemetery you will find the coordinates needed for the cache itself located a short drive through the valley for much more history of the region ~~ Remembrance of the War of 1812 and the Mississinewa River Battlefield. Please visit the Mississinewa 1812 website as well for more detailed information and timeline. It also notes the exciting and largest War of 1812 living history event in the United States and schedule.
Even though the markers and sites are out-of-the normal travel, there are a good number of visitors here throughout the year. An Artesian Well and scenic river views are close by (N 40° 37.786 ~ W 085° 44.318).
This area is highly visited and it's advisable upon retrieving the cache to retreat to your car for review and then take great care in replacing it and its camoflage. Thank you!
AS ALWAYS,
PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL OF THE ENVIRONMENT!!
