The small group of houses around the cache location feels anomalous in the middle of this industrial area in Blackburn. The chicane near the end of the street was installed to stop commercial vehicles from disturbing the serenity of the locals. And embedded in this residential island is a small piece of bush. And in the bush is a geocache.
I used to work at the company next door to this bush park. In fact, there is a gate between the park and the company's car park that allows the employees to find solace during their busy days. I ate my lunch here many times during the summer months.
But why is the cache so named? Is it named for the large computer manufacturer next door that pays for the development and maintenance of the park as a community project? Does "HP" mean happy place, or high performance, or perhaps hit parade? You'll have to read the log book in the cache to find the answer.
The Cache:
The cache container is a 1.2L Sistema clip-top box with possibly the most pathetic camouflage job you're ever likely to see.
You don't need to leave the path, although longish arms might be an advantage.
The initial contents are:
Emu
Packet of coloured chalk
Two hair scrunchies
2 × Chupa Chups
2 × bag closing clips
Toy car
Koala key ring
Mini picture frame
Log book, stash note, and pen
Please take care to replace the cache in the same position to minimise the chances of its being seen by casual walkers.
