These coordinates take you near the top of the falls. During nice weather, you will find lots of Muggles in the area. When the water is low, people often get close enough to the edge to look over the falls. Further upstream, when the water is low enough, children and adults explore and play in the gentle cascading rivulets and pools of water that branch back and forth around boulders, trees, and plants in the middle of the stream. Cache is in a 8" by 4" by 2" Rubbermaid container. It contains artifacts and toys. Oops, I forgot to include a pencil!
Parking: Along Highway #89, at Bayview campground, 7.5 miles northwest of Hwy #50 junction at South Lake Tahoe. (It's across the street from Inspiration Point at Emerald Bay.) The trailhead is at the far end of the campground.
Dogs and Children are allowed but they are required to have fun. This is a great place to have a family picnic in the spring.

From the top of the falls, you can see a panoramic view of Lake Tahoe and all of Cascade Lake.
At the other end of the lake, many years ago, John Steinbeck as a young man was housesitting a cabin, when the snowladen roof fell in.
In the 1960's, a well preserved Indian woman's bodywas found with one of her breasts sliced off. She had died about 100 years ago. She was the victim of a one night Indian skirmish between the peaceful Washoe Indians and the aggressive Reno Indians.
Those interested in additional hiking will find interesting rising rock banks and forest upstream. Kolly Wobbels, Tahoe (Woof!) and I have spent many hours exploring this area. Sometimes it feels like you are on a different planet. P.S. There are some additional caches up there!
