There is not a lot happening between Mojave and Lone Pine, so this will give you a good excuse to stop and stretch your legs. Perhaps you could even get a "taste" of how life was nearly 200 years ago. Find the plaque at the listed coordinates and look for a magnetic match stick holder behind it. Eats, restrooms and some really tasty brews can all be found close by.
