The Grotto Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Gonzo-YT: If this is still here, I'll pick it up next time I head out to Atlin. Sorry to the folks who couldn't find it, it sounds like the water levels were unexpectedly high this year.

Geocache Description:

Cache is located near The Grotto recreation site in Atlin, BC. A great place for a picnic or camping, this one is family-friendly and should be available year round.

Atlin can only be reached by road from the Yukon. It's about 100 km from the Alaska Highway at Jake's Corner. If you're driving through from Skagway you can take the Carcross-Tagish road.

From Atlin, travel 27 km on the Warm Bay road. Park at a clearly marked recreation site.

The cache is a shoebox-sized rubbermaid container. This is a unique environment, so tread carefully.

On your way there or your way back, be sure to stop at the warm springs -- 3.5 km back towards Atlin. For those interested in a hike, stop at the Monarch Mountain trailhead located on this road 6.5 km from town.

My first cache south of 60. Enjoy!
