The listed coordinates will take you to a parking lot for a small park in Middletown. The final location will be found by using the clues below.
Located in this park is the Davis Tavern, which was built in the early 1800's and is now listed on the National Register of Historical Places.According to legend, Lafayette lost a ring under the tavern steps during a visit. Your job is to answer several questions to determine the location of the cache. Who knows, maybe LaFayette really lost his ring out in the woods rather than under the steps?From the parking lot, head towards Davis Tavern (the big yellow building). On the way, you should see a sign (N 38° 14.729 / W 85° 32.248) describing the walking path around the path (it's a ring around the park). See what answers you can pick up there. Then go to the front of the tavern and read the two historical markers there for the rest of the answers.The cache is located at: N 38° A.BC5 W 85° DE.F3A = How many log (or partial log) homes are still in Middletown?B = If you went two miles on the walking path, how many times would you have gone around the park?C = What is the sum of the last two digits of the year Lafayette lost his ring?D = What is the last digit of the street address of the Davis Tavern?E = What is the last digit of the year the land was sold to Philip Buckner?F = What are the first two digits of the year Lafayette lost his ring?The cache has a nice prize for the First to Find and a mix of new and used items.
