Geocache Description:

A nice viewpoint overlooking the start of Kamloops Lake and the old Tranquille TB Centre below.

This Cache has an impressive view of the valley with a fairly easy hike up, just a short steep section at the end. The area has some steep edges as well so is not suitable for the very young (our 10 year old nephew had no problems though). It is suitable for dogs; however, watch out for small cactus in the area as they can get in their paws. Take Red Lake Rd. until you reach a well defined pull out near the cache at N50 45.306 W120 31.432. You will need to travel about 7 km on a narrow windy gravel road. You don't need a 4x4 but be careful of on coming traffic on the corners if you are not familiar with these types of roads. The Cache is a Rubbermaid container painted to blend in. ****Breaking News**** This location was used during the filming of 2012 the Movie. Some one had written in the log book awhile ago that they stumbled upon the cache while on location filming. They did not mention the name of the movie, but I recognized the location as soon as I saw it in the movie. The scene is with Woody Harrelson and John Cusack. Woody's character is on top of the hill near the location of the cache while John's character drives up in an RV looking for Woody. Kind of cool. A picture from the movie is in the photo gallery.
