Geocache Description:

This cache can be found near the highest point in the county of Kent - hence the title.

I found this location while searching for another cache and thought 'what a great spot for one of Mole's locations'.
The cache is situated approximately 20 minutes walk from a location logged as the highest point in Kent UK.
Emmetts Garden is on the summit of Ide Hill, Nr Sevenoaks. This is one of the most beautifully situated gardens in the whole of the south-east and the garden contains many rare and exotic trees and shrubs from across the world. In spring there are stunning displays of daffodils, bluebells, camellias, azaleas and rhododendrons, and the restored rock garden and rose garden provide interest in summer. Spring and autumn bring brilliant colours.
There are two recommended ways to approach the cache location as follows :-

(a) From Emmetts Garden - which is open 20 Mar–27 Jun (Weds to Sun)and 30 Jun–31 Oct (Weds, Sat & Sun) last entry at 1615 hrs. There is an admission price but well worth it if you have a look round these gardens as well as looking for the cache.
The entrance to the Gardens is found at N51 15.336 E00 07.330.
Having looked round the gardens go to the tea shop and with the view to the left and the barn to the right you will see in front of you a footpath heading into the woods. Take this path and at the first path 'crossroads' take a left and go seek the cache.

(b) If you choose not to pay the entrance fee or are out of the times stated then an alternative parking spot can be found at N51 15.245 E00 06.828.
There is only room for two vehicles here . This is next to a footpath - take this path and at the first path 'crossroads' go straight ahead and seek the cache (if you take left here you will find yourself at the gardens as above.)

The cache itself is a tupperware carton in a plastic bag and contains a few goodies. Please note if it has rained this location can get quite muddy and wet under foot, so appropriate footwear (even wellies) would be recommended.
Happy Hunting

I have since discovered this is NOT the highest point in Kent, but never mind, this is a jolly nice place to visit anyway - there is a higher point some 3 miles North West of here. It is likely that this was the high point at one time but border changes made this the second highest, as the other location is very close to the Kent / London border. I may do a cache for the other high point in due course, so watch this space - ***update - look no further Mole's High-dout 2 has been placed and is at the highest spot in kent - go to waypoint GCXZPD***

**Please note - when maintenance was carried out on 2 Feb 2013 it was noted that one of the tupperwares appeared to have gone missing - this is a clip lock container inside a bigger tupperware container. If you only find one tupperware container please advise in your log *** This is one of my oldest caches - the original logbook has been left for perusal - so the two containers are needed to try and keep them dry - thank you *** Tim - ddm
