I Can See For Miles Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Moun10Bike: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

Located along the Cook-Underwood Loop, accessible from Hwy. 14 at both ends.

This has been my all-time favorite viewpoint south toward the Hood River Valley and Mt. Hood for a long time. It never fails to take my breath away. You're on a 1000 ft. bluff looking south over the Columbia River from the WA side. The cache is near a pull-off on the Cook Underwood Road. The location is much closer to the eastern end of Cook-Underwood Road, which is accessible from Highway 14 just on the Portland side of the White Salmon River. If you've got time, do the entire 14 mile loop. The other end of Cook-Underwood Road is between Mileposts 56 and 57 on Hwy. 14. Look for the sign that says "Cook Willard and Willard Nat'l Fish Hatchery". At any rate, enjoy the spectacular view here, which is really best from the opposite end of the pullout from the cache hiding spot
