NEDERLANDS: Een avontuurlijke wandeling van 4 km.
In
1941 ontstond uit een groep universitaire studenten een
sabotagegroep. Zij werden opgeleid door agenten van de SOE en
voerden samen sabotagedaden uit.
Met hun acties wilde de Groep G de bezetter maximaal beschadigen
en zo weinig mogelijk represailles uitlokken. Alle acties werden
gepland in samenwerking met professoren van de ULB, ingenieurs
leverden het sabotagemateriaal.
In 1943 vernietigden deze verzetstrijders de sluizen van Ath en
Clabecq waardoor de binnenscheepvaart maandenlang werd stilgelegd.
Huzarenstuk was 'La grande coupure', de grote stroomonderbreking.
Door de vernietiging van een groot gedeelte van de
hoogspanningslijnen verloren de Duitsers kostbare
productietijd.
Het is
uw taak om via enkele goed gecamoufleerde waypoints in het
basiskamp van 'Group G' te komen en er contact te leggen met
Héléne Burgers, een der oprichters.

OPGELET: Bij het zoeken van deze cache komt u op plaatsen
die gevaarlijk kunnen zijn. Hou daarom kinderen bij de hand en kijk
goed uit waar je loopt. Blijf op de wandelpaden.

En 1941, des étudiants créèrent un groupe de sabotage. Ils
furent entraînés par des agents des SOE et perpétrèrent des actes
de sabotage.
Par ses actions, le Groupe G voulait occasionner un maximum de
dégâts à l'occupant, tout en provoquant un minimum de représailles.
Toutes les actions étaient planifiées avec l'aide de professeurs de
l'ULB, tandis que des ingénieurs fournissaient le matériel de
sabotage.
En 1943 ces résistants détruisirent les écluses de Ath et Clabecq,
ce qui paralysa la navigation fluviale durant de nombreux mois.
Le point d'orgue fut "La grande coupure'. En détruisant une grande
partie des lignes à haute tension, ils privèrent les allemands
d'une précieuse capacité de production.
Votre mission consiste à pénétrer dans le camp de base du Groupe
G, et d'y entrer en contact avec Héléne Burgers, l'une des
fondatrices. Une série de waypoints bien camouflés vous aidera à y
parvenir.

ATTENTION: Pour trouver cette cache vous passerez par des
endroits qui peuvent être dangereux. Tenez les enfants par la main
et regardez bien où vous mettez les pieds. Veuillez rester sur les
sentiers.
ENGLISH: An adventurous walk of 4 km.
In 1941 a sabotage group arose from a group of university
students. They were trained by the agents of the SOE and together
with them they committed acts of sabotage. With their action, Group
G aimed to damage the occupier as much as possible while limiting
the vengeance of the enemy. All actions were planned in cooperation
with the professors of the ULB, engineers were delivering sabotage
material.
In 1943 those resistance militants destroyed the locks of Ath
and Clabecq. As a result river traffic was put down for months. The
master piece was “La grande coupure”, the great power cut. As a
consequence of the destruction of a major part of the power-lines,
the Germans lost valuable production time.
It’s your task to arrive in the base camp of ‘Group G’ via a
number of well camouflaged waypoints. Over there you should contact
Hélène Burgers, one of the founders.
