TBS BANK - Andover [TRAVELBUG HOTEL] Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

Alba15: As there appears to be part of the multi missing and the owners haven't answered DNF's or my previous note, I'm now archiving this listing.

Geocache Description:

Travel Bug Exchange Venue near Andover, Hampshire.
The above co-ordinates are not for the main cache but for one of the two micro caches necessary to access the main vault.

TRAVEL BUGS BANK

Conveniently situated just seconds off the A303 near ANDOVER with easy access from Newbury, Basingstoke, Winchester, Salisbury etc.

NOW OPEN

for Travel Bug Deposits,Withdrawals and Foreign Exchanges

The Bank Vault (large appropriately painted ammo box) is sited a very short walk along a public footpath verging the Southern half of Harewood Forest along the Longparish Road to the South of the A303. Easy access is afforded to both carriageways

Parking is limited in the area. Please park with care being sure not to block any access ways. Take special care not to block the Hatchington Piggery entrance to the Test Way which is in regular use by lorries.

On your first visit, you must locate two micro caches which will provide you with the information you need before you will be granted access the main Bank Vault.

Subsequent visits for the purpose of Travel Bug deposits or withdrawals will involve only the vault location (unless you lose your access details!)

Micro 1 is located along the Test Way footpath. The route to this micro winds its way through the Southern half of Harewood Forest, past several sets of farm buildings. Just follow your nose and you won’t go wrong! Eventually you may need to walk around a fallen tree just before the path gets a little ropey. Take suitable footwear if there has been recent rain.
Look for the cache at:

N 51 10.986 W 001 25.627

Micro 2 is located along a Public Footpath (shown on OS maps as part of the Test Way but now apparently not – due to access changes).
Look for the cache at:

N 51 11.014 W 001 24.581

Vault
Armed with the information from the two micro caches, you will be able to access the Bank Vault.
It would be very helpful if TBs placed in the vault have any specific goal made available with the bug for subsequent visitors to access if it is not already attached to a tag on the TB. (perhaps by placing the TB along with a Bug Sheet printout in a bag)
Although it’s primary purpose is as a Travel Bug Exchange venue, the cache also contains the usual bits and pieces for swapping. Feel free to take a souvenir keyring or TBS banknote.

Please make sure that the security of the vault is maintained at all times and that you are not observed removing or replacing the container. Moving to a point a short way from the cache location in order to investigate the contents might also be a good idea as the footpath is in frequent use for access by locals.

The three caches are accessible from public footpaths and at no time is it necessary to cross fences or stray onto private property.

On the whole the routes are along flat ground and are fairly buggy friendly except for a short muddy stretch at the end of the route to micro 1.

Good luck in your quest and Happy Transactions
