Brandywine Springs Amusment Park Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

OReviewer: As there's been no cache to find for a long time or has had no owner response for at least 30 days, I'm archiving it to keep it from showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements.

Please note that if geocaches are archived by a reviewer or Geocaching HQ for lack of maintenance, they are not eligible for unarchival.

Geocache Description:

In Brandywine Springs County Park where there are still the ruins of a 19th century amusement park. Be sure to see the signs that show what the old park looked like.

Especially with the hint you should be able to find the cache. However since this is in a deep valley with lots of trees and jumping co-ordinates you can try a slightly different way to find this cache if you are having problems. . You need to bring a compass. Go to the exact center of the old entrance gate for the amusement park--or at least where it used to be--now marked by 4 large white posts (this is at 39D 44.638 and 75D 38.190, That should be easy to find if you read the signs about the park. .Standing in the middle of the "gate" go 35 paces on a 310 deg magnetic compass bearing,

Also check out: www.letterboxing.org. I have since learned that by dumb luck I placed my cache withing about 30 feet of a letterbox cache. If you are off in your compass bearing, you will find the "wrong cache" since they both take off from the old Amusment Park "gate"
