Geocache Description:


This cach is in memory of Gil. Gilbert Franklin Halma (Gil)was a police officer for the Cheraw P.D. He received a call of a drunk driver in the area which started out as a chase and ended with the unthinkable. Trying not to jeopardize any ones life, he ran off of the road, hit a guard rail and then was thrown from the police vehicle. He died instantly. The cache is at his final resting place and is a magnetic key holder. I was given special permission from his widow Maria. She was honored that i would consider placing a cache in his memory.
